Manifesto

The Time is land Manifetso expresses the beliefs that guide our movement. It is not a list of rules, but a declaration of values, a way of seeing time, learning, community, and our relationship with one another and the land.

These principles shape our books, educational resources, research, partnership, and the  work we do through Time Is Land Africa.

We believe time is not neutral.

It shapes bodies, communities, and futures.

We believe land remembers.

And so do we.

We believe learning must honour rhythm, reflection, and responsibility.

We believe education should form humans, not just produce outcomes.

We believe rest is sacred.

Memory is living.

Identity is relational.

We believe African temporal intelligence carries wisdom for this moment.

We reject urgency culture.

We reject extraction without care.

We reject forgetting.

We return to cycles.

We return to story.

We return to body.

We return to community.
